Blackboard: Integrating Library Resources: Embedding Research Guides

Embedding Research Guide

The University Libraries personal librarians have created guides in the form of web pages with helpful suggestions on sources and search strategies for various topics. Contact your college's personal librarians if you want a guide created for a particular subject or class assignment. You can access these guides through Research Guides

This page shows how you can embed a complete research guide, a research guide page, or a content box from a research guide into your Blackboard course. You may also add research guides as Web Links into your Blackboard courses. Click Web Linking Research Guide for steps on adding research guides as web links.

Embedding a guide, page, or content box in the Build Content area.
Follow the steps in the images below

For the URL in step 3, copy and paste "https://sbuniv.libapps.com/libapps/lti_launch.php" into the box. Check the box in step 4 to enable embedding.

A web link, "Adolescent Psychology" is created at this point. The first time you open the web link, you will be taken through the steps to embedding a guide, page, or content box. Continue embedding from step 6 below.

At this point, you must have known the guide, page, or content box title (name) and how to navigate to it from the Research Guides.

The options in step 10 are the pages in that guide and the first may likely be used as the landing page.
