Animal Diversity Web (ADW) is an online database of animal natural history, distribution, classification, and conservation biology at the University of Michigan.

The goal of the Encyclopedia will be to serve as an online reference and database on all 1.9 million species currently known to science and will stay current by capturing information on newly discovered and formally described species.
