Think Bolivar has never been hit by a tornado? Think that the "lay of the land" protects Bolivar? Not true. Bolivar has been struck in the past, and it can happen again.
As detailed in this Monthly Weather Review article of April 25, 1929, p. 166: 6 p.m., "Great havoc in Bolivar; many injured, some seriously. Path 24 miles long." The estimated width of the tornado was 100-300 yards.
