The Writing Center in Jester 235 is a friendly, free service to all SBU students looking for help with a writing assignment. The Writing Center will be open the following times during the semester:

8:00-9:30 a.m.; 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.; 2:00-3:00 p.m.; 3:30-4:30 p.m.
Tuesday
10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.; 2:30-4:30 p.m.
Wednesday
8:00-9:30 a.m.; 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.; 2:00-4:00 p.m.
Thursday
9:30-10:30 a.m.; 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.; 3:00-4:30 p.m.
Friday
11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Our peer tutors are available to help with any writing project, any writing style, and any stage of the writing process. Appointments are recommended although walk-ins are accommodated on a space-available basis. Appointments can be made at the Center or by calling 328-1946 when tutors are available. This is a tutorial service, not an editing or proofreading service. Students need to review the paper with the tutor face-to-face and not simply drop the writing off to be "fixed."
For safety, tutors will no longer work with hard copies of writing and must have a digital copy of your work. You will need to email your writing project to writingcenter@sbuniv.edu before your in-person tutoring session can begin.
