Info about Interlibrary Loan

Southwest Baptist University Libraries is a member of a Missouri-wide consortium known as MOBIUSWhat does this mean for you?  SBU faculty, staff, and students may request books via MOBIUS for FREE!

Books that are not available through MOBIUS can be requested via Interlibrary loan (ILL).

Requesting books not owned by SBU via MOBIUS (1st Choice)

To request a book through MOBIUS, please follow these steps:

1. Make sure we don't own a copy. Check our SBU catalog for the book. If we don't have a copy, it will suggest that you try searching through MOBIUS.

2. Click on "MOBIUS" to search for the item you need. This will bring you to MOBIUS' shared catalog where records will be displayed that match your request.

3. Choose a record that best suits your needs and click on "Place a hold".

4. If you're not signed in, you will be asked to choose your institution from a list of available institution. You can either scroll until you see "Southwest Baptist University" listed or you can start typing it in the search bar.

5. Once you've chosen your account, you will login in using SBU's single sign on (your SBU username and password). You can then choose to request the book and complete the request. Sometimes, you may be required to look up the item again, but you shouldn't have to sign in again. Make sure your pickup location is at the correct campus (Harriett K. Hutchens is the Bolivar Campus Library) and click on "Place hold".

6. You'll receive an email once your book arrives at SBU, and you can pick it up using your SBU ID card.

Requesting books via Interlibrary Loan (ILL) (2nd choice)

If you still cannot find the book you are looking for after completing the two previous steps, please fill out the ILL Request Form.
