The Joyce Sells Heritage Center is a place for researchers to work, programs to be held and displays to showcase the Heritage of Southwest Baptist University. The core of the Heritage Collection is from the Historical Gallery, conceived in 1982 by Mrs. Joyce Sells, Mrs. Elizabeth Crozier, and Mrs. Esther Farris, and established through the SBU Women's Club. The collection has grown as more memoribialia has been donated.

The Heritage Center is a designated "Silent Area", where individual students may study away from the ambient noise of the libary.
